Dr. Scott Kim, Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Scott Kim specializes in knee preservation surgery, hip and knee reconstruction, and orthopaedic trauma care. He practices with Simcoe-Muskoka Orthopaedics and serves patients throughout the Simcoe County region through Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and Resolution Physiotherapy.
Dr. Kim completed both his medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Toronto, one of Canada's leading orthopedic training programs. Following residency, he pursued advanced fellowship training in knee joint preservation and sports medicine, where he was the inaugural Joint Preservation Fellow at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Under the mentorship of recognized knee specialists, he developed expertise in treating complex knee disorders using both surgical and non-surgical approaches designed to preserve the native joint and delay or prevent the need for joint replacement.
His fellowship training provided extensive experience in advanced knee procedures including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, multi-ligament knee reconstruction, corrective osteotomies, patellar stabilization surgery, cartilage restoration techniques, knee arthroscopy, partial knee replacement, total knee replacement, and the management of complex knee injuries. During this period, he also gained substantial experience in orthopedic trauma surgery, treating fractures and musculoskeletal injuries ranging from routine to highly complex cases.
Today, Dr. Kim's clinical practice focuses on helping patients maintain mobility and function through evidence-based orthopedic care. His areas of interest include:

As part of the Simcoe-Muskoka Orthopaedics team, Dr. Kim contributes to regional orthopedic services across Central Ontario, providing both elective and emergency orthopedic care. He works closely with family physicians, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive musculoskeletal treatment while helping improve access to specialized orthopedic services for residents of Simcoe County and Muskoka.
Dr. Kim is certified as a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is known for a patient-centered approach that emphasizes accurate diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and restoration of function so patients can return to their desired activities and quality of life.
Dr. Kim is passionate about prevention and is joining the Resolution team with this goal in mind. Dr. Kim is hoping to reduce pain and delay the need for joint replacements through preventative and interventional treatments including intra-articular Autologous Protein (nSTRIDE), PRP,Hyaluronic, and Corticosteroid injections.
