The incidence of running related injuries is more than 50% for North mericans.

Highly supportive, cushioned running footwear has not reduced the incidence of running injuries.

The newest research shows that heel to toe running techniques increase your risk of injury and decrease your running performance.

At Resolution Physiotherapy IMS Clinic, Barrie, learn how simple changes in your running style can increase performance and prevent injuries.

We have Physiotherapists who have completed post-graduate training in Running Assessment who will analyze your running style and help you adopt a mid-foot running technique which can increase your running speed and performance while also reducing your risk of injury.

One of my favourite aspects of being a Physiotherapist is working with athletes, whether weekend warriors or at the elite level, and helping get them back to doing what they love. In addition to educating my clients about how changing their running style can improve performance, I also enjoy giving my clients specific running drills and exercises which may also benefit their recovery.

At Resolution Physiotherapy, Barrie, our Physiotherapists trained in running assessment will perform a video treadmill assessment of your running style, analyzing foot strike pattern, cadence, and body mechanics.  Our running trained Physiotherapists will then coach you in mid-foot running technique, which can increase your running efficiency, reduce compression through ankle, knee, hip and spinal joints, and increase your performance.

Our Physiotherapists will also educate you in exercises to correct any muscle imbalances identified, and to assist in your successful transition to mid-foot running style.

Most running injuries result from progressing your running too quickly.  Our running assessments include coaching on how to progress your running program safely, whether you are a seasoned runner, new to the sport, or returning from an injury.

High tech, highly cushioned, supportive footwear has not reduced the incidence of running injuries.  As part of your running assessment, you will learn which shoes will maximize your mid-foot running performance and minimize injury.
